About this event
One of Kagoshima Prefecture's three great festivals, with over 900 years of history. Yagoro-don, a 4.85-meter giant, is hauled upright with ropes in the grounds of Iwagawa Hachiman Shrine early in the morning, then parades through town for about three hours in the afternoon Hamakudari procession. Held every November 3; free.
