About this event
The Fukushima Waraji Festival centers on a giant 12-meter straw sandal (waraji) paraded through the streets and ultimately dedicated to Haguro Shrine on Mt. Shinobu. Featuring energetic waraji dancing, taiko drumming, and traditional performances along the main street near Fukushima Station. The festival celebrates a 300-year tradition of praying for healthy legs and safe travels.
