A UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage festival in Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture. Japan's biggest wooden festival floats — dekayama standing 12 meters tall and weighing 20 tons — are paraded through narrow streets. Three districts each build a new float topped with handcrafted Kabuki scenes. The spectacular tsuji-mawashi (90-degree float turning) is a highlight.
