About this event
The Annual Grand Festival at Meiji Jingu is the shrine's most sacred yearly event, held on November 3rd — Culture Day and the birthday of Emperor Meiji. Priests perform solemn Shinto rites to honor the emperor and empress, while selected traditional performing arts are offered throughout the day. The entire shrine is charged with a sense of reverence and festivity that makes it one of the most memorable days to visit this iconic Tokyo landmark.
