Murone Shrine Special Grand Festival

An Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property held only once every few years at Murone Shrine in Ichinoseki. Two portable shrines are carried down Mount Murone through the night in a race to the lower shrine, a rite said to date back over a thousand years.
