The autumn pottery fair of Okawachiyama in Imari, the valley still called the Village of the Secret Kilns, where the Nabeshima clan's techniques have been handed down since the Edo period. Kilns along the stone lanes sell their work, with the folding-screen cliffs and autumn colours as a backdrop.
