About this event
Japan's largest dance festival with a 400-year history, attracting over 1.3 million visitors. From August 12-15, groups of dancers (ren) perform the hypnotic Awa Odori through Tokushima's streets to the rhythm of shamisen, taiko drums, and flutes. Both ticketed and free viewing areas are available across multiple performance stages throughout the city.
