About this event
The Asakusa Samba Carnival is Tokyo's most vibrant and colorful street festival, bringing the energy of Brazilian Carnival to the historic streets of Asakusa. Around 5,000 performers in dazzling costumes parade down Kaminarimon-dori to pounding samba rhythms, transforming the temple town into a sea of feathers and sequins. It is an exhilarating celebration of cultural exchange that has been filling Asakusa with joy every late summer for over four decades.
