A special exhibition at the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre examining how the mountain became a symbol of the modern Japanese nation. Images of Fuji linked to the shogun and the emperor, from the end of the Edo period to the prewar Showa era, trace the political, cultural and spiritual weight the mountain carried.
