The Kanbutsu-e (Flower Festival) at Hase-dera Temple in Kamakura celebrates the Buddha's Birthday on April 8th. A small statue of the infant Buddha is bathed in sweet tea (amacha) amid a colorful display of flowers, honoring the tradition of celebrating the Buddha's birth with natural beauty.
