Urabon-e (Obon Ceremony)

Urabon-e, commonly known as Obon, is one of the most important Buddhist festivals of the year, held to honor and welcome back the spirits of ancestors. At Zojoji Temple, priests conduct special memorial services with sutra chanting and offerings. The ceremony reflects the deep Buddhist belief in the continuing bond between the living and those who have passed on.
