The autumn grand festival of Matsubara Hachiman Shrine in Himeji, famed as Japan's most spectacular 'fighting festival'. Three mikoshi portable shrines are violently clashed together while seven villages parade lavishly decorated yatai floats. A prefectural intangible folk cultural property.
