About this event
The Kanname and Tea Jar Offering Festival at Heian Jingu combines two related ceremonies: the Kanname, which celebrates the first rice harvest of the year, and the dedication of ceremonial tea jars filled with the season's finest tea. Both offerings reflect gratitude to the gods for the bounty of the harvest season.
