On August 15th, the anniversary of Japan's World War II surrender, Zojoji Temple holds a Peace Prayer Ceremony to mourn all those who lost their lives in the war and to pray for lasting world peace. The ceremony is a solemn occasion that brings together people of different faiths in a shared expression of grief, remembrance, and hope. The tolling of the temple bell resonates through the grounds as a prayer for a future free from conflict.
